Over 1,000 people attended the funeral of Danny Jones, who tragically died during a game for Keighley Cougars.

The 29-year-old Wales international collapsed at London Skolars and suffered a cardiac arrest - triggered by heart disease - on May 3 and efforts to resuscitate him failed.

St Mary's church in Halifax hosted the funeral and was packed with mourners. Hundreds more watched the service outside on big screens.

Keighley captain James Feather said: "He would have wanted us to be smiling and happy and having a laugh and telling a joke and talking about the good times we've had.

"That's how Danny was when we went out, doing his impressions and having a laugh."

Jones is survived by a wife and five-month old twins, and an RFL Benevolent Fund has so far raised £150,000 for the family.
