This is the moment Gareth O'Brien's golden-point drop-goal capped off Salford's incredible comeback

Gareth O'Brien kicked a stunning long-range drop-goal to secure Salford's Super League status at the expense of Hull KR.

After two tries in the final two minutes forced golden-point extra-time, Red Devils full-back O'Brien struck the decisive blow with an outrageous attempt from 50 metres.

"I've seen last-minute drop-goals before but never one like that," said Salford head coach Ian Watson. "It was a massive play by Gaz O'Brien to be fair.

"He's a tremendous kicker of the ball but I don't think he'll ever kick one like that again."

Salford looked destined to drop into the Championship as they trailed 18-10 with two minutes left but hit back with two last-gasp tries from Niall Evalds and Greg Johnson to draw level.

O'Brien was wide with both difficult conversion attempts but landed the long-range drop-goal on 84 minutes to end Hull KR's 10-year stay in Super League.
