Reds continue spending spree with signing of Wildcats hooker

Salford have signed a fifth new player for 2011 with the capture of Wakefield hooker Tevita Leo-Latu on a two-year deal. The 29-year-old joins Huddersfield's Stephen Wild, Luke Patten (Canterbury), Vinnie Anderson (Warrington) and Chris Nero (Bradford) as new signings for next season. "I'm really looking forward to moving to Salford," said Leo-Latu, who has only missed two games for Wakefield this season. "It's going to be a good, new challenge and some of the guys we have signed for next year mean we have to be looking at a minimum of the play-offs. "I have played with some of the guys in the past so it won't be too strange, but I just want to play well." In a further boost for coach Shaun McRae, the Reds have tied winger Jodie Broughton to a new three-year contract. The 22-year-old has scored 13 tries this season, and was called up to the England squad for a recent team-building session by coach Steve McNamara. "Jodie is one of the most exciting prospects in the game and we are delighted to have tied up his long-term future," said director of football Steve Simms.
