Warrington man could miss big Friday night clash after RFL charge

Warrington's England centre Chris Bridge is in danger of missing the Stobart Super League leaders' trip to defending champions Leeds on Friday because of suspension. Bridge has been charged with intentionally striking Bradford half-back Ben Jeffries with his forearm during his side's 23-10 victory at Odsal on Saturday and is set to appear before the Rugby Football League's disciplinary committee tomorrow. Bradford coach Mick Potter expressed his surprise that the player was not put on report by match referee Thierry Alibert at the time of the incident but the RFL's match-review panel today decided to charge him with a grade B offence, which carries a ban of between one and two matches. Catalan Dragons centre Setaimata Sa must answer a grade C charge after being accused of making dangerous contact with Wigan forward Chris Tuson during his side's 36-12 defeat yesterday. Castleford back rower Brett Ferres has been charged with a grade B offence of making dangerous contact with Leeds forward Jay Pitts during the Tigers' 36-14 loss on Friday. Meanwhile, five Championship players have been charged with committing offences during the recent Northern Rail Cup fixture between Featherstone and Halifax. Featherstone captain Stuart Dickens is accused of head-butting during his side's 34-32 win while team-mates Michael Hayley and Andy Bostock are charged with striking offences. Halifax's Craig Ashall and Dane Manning have also been charged with striking offences in the same match. Ashall made an early guilty plea and has received a one-match ban which rules him out of his club's opening Championship fixture against Hunslet on Sunday.
