Carl Ablett said it would be a dream to lift the Super League trophy on Saturday as Danny McGuire and Rob Burrow leave after Leeds Rhinos face Castleford Tigers in the Grand final live on Sky Sports Arena.
Saturday's game sees Rhinos captain McGuire end his lifelong association with the club while Burrow will hang up his boots after being with the club for 16 years.
"I don't think any words I could say would do them justice," said Ablett. "I think the word legend is overused in sport but these two are not just legends on the field but around the place and have been setting standards from a young age.
"It's going to be weird not having them around next year, fortunately, I have played so many games with them and what they had achieved is incredible.
"It would be great if we could do it on Saturday and send them off and let Mags lift that trophy, that would be a dream for us but we will focus on the performance and hopefully that will happen."
McGuire has been with the club since the age of 12 and has won seven Super League titles and he is now making the move to Hull KR.
Rhinos have lost four times to Castleford this season but Ablett hopes that if they continue their good preparation and peak at the perfect time on Saturday.
"Consistency-wise they have been the best team out there," admitted Ablett. "We know that we are going to have to play well on Saturday, I think we are going to have a good week and we can trouble them if we play to our maximum and each player contributes.
"It's important that we rock up on Saturday with good preparation behind us knowing that we are going to have to play well to win."
Ablett knows that they have a mountain to climb in order to beat Castleford on the weekend.
"Throughout the year, anyone who has watched enough of them knows that they're on a different level to most of the league this year and deserve to finish top and 10 points clear of us in second.
"We are playing different now I think over the last few weeks we are we've put up some decent form and go into the game quite confidently."
