Prop delighted to be heading south
London Broncos have signed prop Scott Wheeldon for the rest of the season following his release from Hull KR.
The 26-year-old had a six-year professional career in Hull, where he made a total of 134 appearances for the city's two Super League clubs.
Broncos coach Rob Powell said: "We have been a bit thin on props all season and Scott provides a lot of experience."
Wheeldon made his debut for Hull in 2006 and appeared in the Grand Final against St Helens in his first season before crossing the city at the end of 2008.
"I'm really happy to come down to London and be given the chance to play some rugby and better my career," he said. "It will be good to get some game time under my belt."
Wheeldon appeared in eight of Hull KR's opening 10 matches of the season but has not played since Easter Monday and was out of contract at the end of the year.
Rovers chief executive Mike Smith said: "Scott has been a loyal servant to the club over the last three-and-a-half years and I'd like to thank him for the effort and commitment he has given during that time.
"His opportunities for us have been limited this season and the move to London should enable Scott to play first-team rugby on a more regular basis and put himself in the shop window for next year."
