The last time the Bulls made the play-offs was 2008; after a difficult few months, coach Francis Cummins will hope he can end that drought with a squad that offers a blend of Super League experience and promising young talent.

Phil Clarke predicts: 12th

The alphabetical Super League table has them at the top today, but I very much doubt that will be the case by the time we get to September. Their challenges are ON and OFF the field. Most people have them down as 'underdogs', which is often used in sport as an advantage. They've shown a spirit that has kept them alive and made them competitive and will win matches because of the threat and try-scoring ability of Jarrod Sammut and Brett Kearney. PLAYER TO WATCH: Elliott Kear was an average player when he played for the Crusaders. He's now becoming a good player at the Bulls and could end up a great player if his progression continues. Ever-present for the Bulls in 2013, he ranked fourth in their try-scoring behind Keith Lulia and the two Australians I've mentioned above.
