Chasing the Dragons

Image: Rangi Chase: on fire for Tigers

Stevo says that Castleford's momentum will be too much for Catalans on Saturday evening.

Can Catalans spoil the party at the PROBIZ Coliseum?

Well it's been a long time since we have seen Castleford at the top of the table. They fully deserve to be there as they have been playing some great rugby. The likes of Danny Orr and Rangi Chase have been in superb form and coach Terry Matteson has got that fine mixture of experience and raw talent just right. He has thrown some youngsters into the deep end and the boys have they learnt to swim quickly. I have been really impressed with Adam Milner, Oliver Holmes and Joe Arundel who have stepped up and taken their chances. The Tigers forwards have been very hungry and fronted up to all those they have come across - I expect them to do more of the same against Catalans. Tigers will be favourites at home but they are going to have to watch Catalans very closely. The Castleford fans will be looking forward to seeing Willie Isa finally make his Tigers debut. The Samoan star has been held up with visa problems but will be looking forward to stretching his legs and helping his new club stay at the top of the table. You have got to give Catalans their due - last week it was a spirited fight back from them against St Helens. Their combinations are beginning to gel and they are getting into some sort of shape. They were so far behind at the start of the season so maybe they are starting to catch up a bit. However they are still missing a few players and that has really hurt them - especially the loss of Thomas Bosc. They will be boosted by the return of Clint Greenshields and Jean Philippe Baile though and I think Greenshields will definitely give them some much needed composure. I feel that they have been missing that and are also not turning their pressure into points. Greenshields, along with Damien Blanch will certainly add to their clinical edge. However for the likes of Greenshields, Blanch and Setaimata Sa to attack, the forwards are really going to have to front up. They certainly have some big me and if they do that they may have a chance. STAR MAN: Setaimata Sa is a key player for Catalans - he is a big centre and they will be looking at him for so go forward. STEVO SAYS: While I think Catalans showed some promise I still think Castleford at home will be too much for them.
