Hull KR have handed in-form prop Robbie Mulhern a new contract that will take him to the end of 2021.
The 23-year-old former Leeds forward has produced some of the best rugby of his career since the Robins secured their return to the Betfred Super League this year and coach Tim Sheens is tipping him for international honours.
"We've sat down over the past few months to discuss the players we want to build this club around moving forwards and Robbie's was one of the first names on the list," Sheens said.
"He's had an outstanding season so far and there's still plenty of potential and development left in him, especially considering how young he is for a prop forward.
"Although he already had another year left on his contract, we wanted to tie him down to a longer deal and we're delighted that he's signed long-term.
"His leg speed is a real asset and I believe he has the potential to play at the top level internationally if he keeps working hard, but he's a really level-headed young man who's put a huge amount of effort into his all-round game and this contract is a deserved reward."
Mulhern said: "I wasn't really thinking about it (a new deal) until it was offered but I'm really pleased with the direction the club is going in and to be working under Tim.
"I've had a good start to the year but I've taken it with a pinch of salt really. I try not to take too much notice of what's been said about me, either good or bad.
"I more focus on taking on board the praise or criticism from the coaching staff and keeping my head down the rest of the time."
