Netherton is the only player to have been at Rovers throughout Morgan's reign and is in no doubt about his qualities.
"I would think Justin will go on and achieve great things," he said.
"We are all sorry at the club to see him leave, but his record at the club speaks for itself. I speak for all the players when I wish him all the best.
"We knew that something was going on, owing to the speculation you read, but we didn't know the ins and outs. We only got told on Thursday and we're sorry that he's moving on."
Play-off aim
The Hull KR squad are determined to send Morgan out on a high by reaching the play-offs.
They are still just a point outside the top eight with four games remaining, and Netherton is convinced they can make the post-season.
"It would be a nice way to finish, to have a good end for him," the 28-year-old said.
"We're only a point behind Hull, have some winnable games and play some of the teams around us."
Morgan is being linked with Castleford Tigers and Canterbury Bulldogs while
John Kear and Brian Noble are early names in the frame to take over at Craven Park.
