Batley are 80 minutes away from a place in the Super 8s Qualifiers after beating second-placed London Broncos 31-20 in the Kingstone Press Championship.
John Kear's men now need just a point from their last match of the regular season at Swinton next Sunday to join Leigh and the Broncos in the mix for a tilt at Super League.
The race for the two remaining spots will go down to the wire, with Bradford, Featherstone and Halifax all in the hunt on the final day.
Winger Shaun Ainscough and half-back Dominic Brambani scored two tries apiece for Batley, while Shaun Squires and Adam Gledhill got the others as Pat Walker kicked three goals and Brambani kicked a last-minute drop goal.
London, who trailed 14-4 at the break, scored tries through Elliot Kear, Ben Hellewell, Api Pewhairangi and Mark Offerdahl, while Australian scrum-half Jamie Soward kicked two goals on his return to the club.
Featherstone followed up their impressive away win over Batley with a 24-20 victory over Halifax at the The Shay to keep alive their hopes of a top-four finish.
Rovers scored tries through Andy Ellis, loanee Leeds winger Ashton Golding, Misi Taulapapa and Jack Ormondroyd while Kyle Briggs kicked four goals. Halifax led 14-12 at the break thanks to tries from Connor Robinson and Ben Johnston and were 20-18 ahead midway through the second half after Mitch Cahalane added a third but a second successive defeat saw them slip to sixth and effectively out of contention.
Winger Omari Carol scored five tries to help Bradford to a 44-12 victory over Oldham that lifted them back into the top four.
Kris Welham, Kurt Haggerty, Joe Philbin and Ethan Ryan got the other tries for the Bulls, who now face a decisive last-round match against Featherstone at the BigFellas Stadium next Sunday.
Oldham trailed only 18-12 at half-time thanks to tries from substitutes Jack Blagbrough and Michael Ward, both goaled by skipper Lewis Palfrey.
Stand-off Andy Kain marked his 300th career appearance with one of Dewsbury's six tries as they halted a four-match losing run with a 34-16 victory over Swinton Lucas Walshaw, Dale Morton and Matt Groat also scored tries to help the Rams to a 24-10 interval lead while Tony Tonks touched down twice in the second half and Paul Sykes took his goal tally to five.
Liam Marshall scored a try in each half for the Lions and Rhodri Lloyd got the other, with Chris Atkin kicking two goals.
Bottom club Workington overcame the eighth-minute dismissal of Karl Olstrum to snatch a sensational 30-28 victory over Whitehaven in the Cumbrian derby at Derwent Park.
Trailing 24-16 with four minutes left, Whitehaven thought they had secured a first win in seven matches when quickfire tries from John Paul Brocklebank and Grant Gore, both goaled by Brocklebank, put them 28-24 in front.
However, 12-man Town had one last chance to win it deep into stoppage time and Jason Mossop went over at the corner and Jarrod Sammut landed the touchline conversion - his seventh successful kick of the match - to break Whitehaven hearts.
Earlier John Patrick touched down in each half and Sammut also scored a try for a personal haul of 18 points, while James Newton, Andy Yates and Martin Calvert were Whitehaven's other tryscorers.
