Stevo says that the fierce rivalry between Wakefield and Castleford will bring out the best of them.
Who will have bragging rights on Saturday night?
I guess both Wakefield and Castleford are just relieved that they are still in Super League and I suppose that you could saythe pressure is not really on them anymore. However every derby game is important and this could be a real ding-dong battle.
Both clubs are in a bit of turmoil at the moment - with John Kear leaving Wakefield and Terry Matteson leaving the Tigers at the end of the season - neither club is sure who will be coaching them next year, but both of them will want to go out with a bang. And you can bet your bottom dollar they have have been working hard at achieving that goal all week.
Wakefield will be looking to Tommy Lee to lead from the front. He has got plenty of experience, and his kicking game will be crucial for them. I also expect a fair bit of work from Julien Rinaldi, especially from dummy-half.
Castleford have been really disappointing lately. I think that Challenge Cup defeat to Leeds really took a lot out of them - especially mentally. A week later they were back in Super League action against Leeds again - and were absolutely demolished.
They would not be happy with that performance and will definitely be looking to making amends to their fans. They really need Rangi Chase at his best, but if they want to get him to weave his magic then the likes of Dean Widders needs to step up too. If the forwards - and Widders - can create some space for Chase, then he will be hard to stop.
The rivalry between these two sides is intense and pride is definitely something to play for. Some players will also be playing for contracts - with the game live on Sky they are definitely in the shop window.
Castleford are already in the top eight but will want to make sure with a win. Wakefield cannot make the top eight now but will want to prove that they are not as bad as their league position suggests.
STAR MAN: it has to be Chase. He is just so influential, however his influence is also dependent on the players around him creating that space for him
STEVO SAYS: Castleford were terrible last weekend and will be looking to bounce back and what better way to do it than in a derby clash!
