Aussie forward becomes latest new recruit to enter The Jungle
Castleford have signed Australian back-row forward Tom Haberecht for next season.
The 22-year-old will join the Super League new boys on a one-year deal, becoming the sixth new face to arrive at The Jungle.
The Tigers last week announced the capture of scrum-half Brent Sherwin after already bringing in Luke Dorn, Michael Korkidas and Mark Edmondson, all from relegated Salford, and Scott Moore on a season-long loan from St Helens.
A former Canterbury junior, Haberecht spent last season plying his trade in the Premiership with Wests Tigers' junior club, the Balmain Tigers.
Very keen
"He might not be a well known name but he is very keen," Castleford football manager Michael Robinson said on the club's website.
"He is a big strong running back rower with a good offload and fits into our planning of a squad with a good number of young, enthusiastic players.
"Tom went well as a youngster and whilst he may not have progressed as much as he might have hoped to over the past year, I know that he has plenty of potential and working with Terry, I'm sure that he can blossom with us."
