Leeds coach insists Rhinos need to re-group
Warrington coach James Lowes is backing Adrian Morley for the end-of-season Man of Steel award after the skipper starred in the Wolves' 22-12 defeat of Leeds.
The prop won the
Sky Sports man of the match award against his former club with an outstanding display.
Leeds-born Lowes, who also played for the Rhinos during his own illustrious career, said: "Moz has been doing that all year.
"There are a few names being bandied about for Man of Steel but he's got to be in for it.
"Simon Grix was also outstanding but it was a great effort from all the boys. And it had to be."
This was the Wolves' seventh win in eight games since Lowes was placed in charge - the former Leeds, Bradford and Great Britain hooker was this week awarded a contract until the end of 2009.
Thanks
Lowes added: "Getting the job was nice and I'm pleased. I must say thanks to the boys for that."
The only negative for Lowes was an injury to second rower Louis Anderson, who suffered a suspected broken arm and was taken straight to hospital after being replaced in the first half.
Rhinos coach Brian McClennan, who was missing a handful of players through injury, while prolific winger Scott Donald missed out due to the birth of his baby, conceded: "I thought in the first half there was quite a bit of parity between us but in the second half we showed a lot of fatigue.
"I think most teams suffer the week after playing St Helens but we're going to have to re-group and try our reignite our season before the play-offs."
