Australian forward looking to help Rovers return to glory days
Clint Newton has committed his future to Hull KR by signing a new four-year deal with the Super League club.
The 27-year-old is currently in his second season with the Robins having arrived from Melbourne Storm after winning the NRL title.
The son of Australian golfer Jack Newton, the second-rower, who was born on American soil while his father was playing in the 1981 US Open, admitted he had no interest in returning Down Under.
With his contract situation sorted, Newton is now determined to help Rovers win a trophy during his time in England.
Something special
"There is no other team I want to play for" he told the
Hull Daily Mail.
"I have no desire to go back and play in the NRL because there is something special happening here at Rovers and I want to be a part of it.
"I can't see myself playing for another club and I believe loyalty is very important.
"I said when I first signed for Rovers that I wanted to take them back to the glory days, and I have a great opportunity to do that with this current group."
