Winterstein set to miss rest of Super League season

Samoan international forward Frank Winterstein may have played his last match for Wakefield after it was confirmed he sustained a broken jaw in a reserve match. The 22-year-old former Canterbury Bulldogs front-rower arrived at Belle Vue in March on a contract to the end of the season but has made only three substitute appearances in Super League. And Wildcats head coach John Kear admits the injury setback is likely to keep Winterstein out for the remainder of the season. "He has had a plate inserted in the right side of his jaw so it's highly unlikely he'll play again this season," said Kear. "We'll consider all options and try to make the right decision for the club and the player."
