Cowboys ace prepares for move to the Belle Vue

Wakefield have completed the signing of North Queensland prop Shane Tronc on a two-year deal. The Wildcats pounced on the opportunity to bring in Tronc, who had been shown the door at the Cowboys due to financial constraints. Tronc will join fellow new signings Terry Newton and Glen Morrison at the Yorkshire outfit in time for the 2010 season. Coach John Kear said: "When the opportunity to acquire a player of Shane Tronc's ability came up, the club jumped at the chance. "We see the signing as a continuation of our great and sustained improvement." The Australian made 119 appearances in the NRL over six seasons and has been in brilliant form this season, averaging 188m and 27 tackles a game. Tronc said: "I have always harboured a desire to play in the Super League and I'm looking forward to the new challenge. "I have been enjoying my football in Australia this year and I'm very happy with my form. "Wakefield are a club that is improving and are going places on the back of good coaching, and I was very impressed with the club's professionalism during negotiations with my agent."
