Full-back delighted with two-year contract extension
Wakefield have rewarded ever-present full-back Matt Blaymire with a new two-year contract that will see him through the 2011 season.
The 27-year-old has been a model of consistency since joining the Wildcats from York City Knights three years ago, scoring 21 tries in 68 Super League appearances.
He has crossed eight times this season and Wildcats head coach John Kear believes Blaymire's consistently high standard of performance has demanded a new deal.
"Matt is one of the best full-backs in Super League and his game has come on a long way in his three years with us," he said.
"He has been part of the club's development over those three years and he has been one of our best and most consistent performers in 2009."
Blaymire added: "As soon as I knew the club wanted me to stay there was only one place I was going to be next season and it was just a case of getting the deal sorted out.
"The team is going the right way and the signings that have been announced for next year should make for another really good season and I want to be a part of that."
