Cook Islands await for Kumuls
Papua New Guinea beat Tonga 44-14 to stay on course for a place in the 2010 Four Nations.
Victory in Port Moresby earned the Kumuls a place in the final of the Pacific Cup against the Cook Islands next Sunday.
Led by their English-based contingent of Menzie Yere (Sheffield), Jason Chan (Celtic Crusaders) and John Wilshere (Salford), the hosts established a 20-4 half-time lead and piled up another 24 points after the break.
The winner of next Sunday's final will join Australia, New Zealand and England in next year's Four Nations down under.
