Ex-Wolves winger resurrects career with Eels

Former Warrington winger Chris Hicks has made yet another u-turn after agreeing a one-year deal with NRL side Parramatta Eels. The 33-year-old Australian announced his retirement earlier this year but then decided to play on with the Wolves in 2011. However, he then vacated his spot on the roster so that Warrington could sign former Canberra centre Joel Monaghan, opting instead to retire. But the former Manly Sea Eagles player admitted he was delighted to be returning to the NRL next year. "I can't wait to return back to Australia and play under Stephen Kearney," Hicks told Sportsnewsfirst.com.au. "Having the chance to play alongside superstars like Jarryd Hayne and Nathan Hindmarsh has got me excited and I'm ready for a successful year with the Eels." Hicks, who scored a hat-trick of tries in Warrington's Challenge Cup final win in August, was also wanted by Catalans Dragons.
