Hugh Vyvyan scored two tries as Saracens beat Treviso in Italy.
Heineken Cup, Stadio Comunale di Monigo, Saturday October 29, KO 13.00pmHugh Vyvyan scored two tries as Saracens continued their flying start in the Heineken Cup with a 30-17 victory over Benetton Treviso.
Vyvyan, who stunning drop goal was the highlight of the victory over Biarritz last weekend, scored either side of half time at the Stadio Comunale di Mongio.
New Zealand outside-half Glen Jackson added 15 points with the boot to cement Treviso's position at the bottom of Pool 4.
The only negative for Saracens coaches Steve Diamond and Mike Ford was their side's inability to score a valuable fourth and bonus-point try, despite racking up three in the first 50 minutes.
Saracens were given an early scare when Treviso's Australian full-back Brendan Williams scored the opening try after four minutes.
But the English club responded well, opting for a scrum instead of a certain three points and being awarded a penalty try when Treviso collapsed the scrum for a third time.
Outside-half Martinus Smith struck a penalty goal for Treviso, but Vyvyan's try shortly before the interval was converted by Jackson, who then added a penalty to give the visitors a 17-10 half-time lead.
New Zealand backrower Dion Kingi made up for a first-half yellow card by going over at the start of the second half to level the scores, but that was as good as things got for the Italians.
Vyvyan claimed his second try when he was played in by lock Simon Raiwalui and Jackson converted and then stretched his side's lead with a second penalty goal.
Jackson then sealed victory for Sarries with his third penalty after Alvaro Tejedo, who had been on the field for just 20 seconds, was shown the yellow card for a professional foul.
