Judd Trump insists he has no regrets despite losing out to John Higgins in the final of the Betfred.com World Championship.
Trump had led 12-9 in Sheffield before he finally succumbed 18-15, as Higgins secured his fourth world crown.
And the 21-year-old believes he was right to continue with the same attacking approach that had seen him past Neil Robertson, Martin Gould, Graeme Dott and Ding Junhui en route to the final.
Trump said: "I felt that I was going to pot every ball that I went for. If I wasn't so confident, maybe I wouldn't have gone for them.
"Those shots are what got me this far. To change my game plan would have been a bit stupid really.
Happy
"I just went out and enjoyed it, the crowd enjoyed it and that's what makes me happy and makes me want to play the game.
"I loved it out there. You only get nerves when you're scared of missing. I went for my shots. Some went in, some didn't."
Trump's flair and approach to the game has seen him hailed as snooker's new superstar.
And although Trump knows that added expectations will come with the tag, he will not change the way he plays.
"Obviously it's nice to hear the words but you're only really remembered when you win titles. You're not remembered as a loser," he said.
"Next year there is going to be a lot of expectation on me. There will be a lot of players who will want to bring me back down to earth and beat me.
Popular
"When I came here I was nobody really. Now every time I go into a restaurant or walk down the street, everybody seems to notice me and wish me luck, which is brilliant and the way I want it to be.
"But that's only going to continue if I keep winning matches and playing the way I am.
"I've tried to make the game more popular with the younger people. There are a lot of people who don't really watch snooker and have started watching because of me in these last two weeks, so I've got to keep doing my thing and keep a new generation coming through and making kids want to play the game because of it.
"I knew John was going to turn it on today. He's a champion, he's been there before, he knows what to do and he knows how to flip the switch and keep it tight when he needs to.
"He played better than me today, kept it tight and I missed a couple of balls in the last couple of frames. That's what turned the match."
Despite his defeat to Higgins, Trump will celebrate reaching the final at the Crucible by splashing out on a new car.
"Will I be sensible and pay off the mortgage? Not a chance," he said. "I want to do something flash now and enjoy myself.
"You've got to reward yourself when you do stuff like this because it doesn't happen very often."
