British Swimming say they are disappointed Tom Daley's husband, Dustin Lance Black, felt his family could not attend the Diving World Series.
Black claimed British Swimming had created a "toxic environment" for families at events and that was the reason he could not attend the Diving World Series.
In a series of tweets Black also said families of swimmers representing British Swimming were treated as "obstacles".
Daley was competing at the Diving World Series yesterday at the London Aquatic Centre where he won mixed 3m synchro gold alongside Grace Reid.
British Swimming told Sky Sports News they had offered to put measures in place to store buggies at the event so Black could attend with his and Daley's child.
But Black has claimed the situation created "had little to nothing to do with a pram".
"British Swimming is extremely disappointed that Tom's husband felt that he couldn't be at the London Aquatic Centre to support Tom yesterday," British Swimming said.
"The London Aquatic Centre's policy is not to allow buggies onto the spectator concourse for health and safety reasons and British Swimming supported this policy to ensure the safety of everyone attending this exciting event.
"British Swimming recognises the fundamental part that families play in supporting all of the athletes and offered to put measures in place to store the buggy during the event so that Tom's family could be present.
"We were pleased to see some of Tom's family there last night celebrating his success."
