Andy Murray faces defending champion David Ferrer at the Erst Bank Open in Vienna
Saturday 29 October 2016 14:48, UK
Top seed Andy Murray faces defending champion David Ferrer in the semi-finals of the Erst Bank Open on Saturday and you can watch the action live on Sky Sports 4 HD from 1pm.
The Scot knows a tournament victory in Vienna, coupled with a success at next week's Masters event in Paris would see him reach the peak of the rankings for the first time in his career, as long as incumbent Novak Djokovic does not reach the final in France.
Murray beat Ferrer for the title two years ago, and also defeated the Spaniard in the semi-finals on his way to winning to the title at Beijing three weeks ago.
Ferrer has played at least one final in each of the past 11 seasons, but has yet to reach one this year. He was forced to hold off a match point to beat Serbia's Viktor Troicki while Murray crushed John Isner for the seventh time in seven meetings.
The 29-year-old, who now has 68 wins in 2016, is on a 14-match win streak and will be looking to stretch that against the Spaniard where he enjoys a 14-6 winning record.
Big-serving Ivo Karlovic faces sixth seed and 2011 champion Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the first semi-final.
