Aljaz Bedene plays a forehand during his third-round match against Gilles Muller

British No 3 Aljaz Bedene is into the last-16 of the German Open in Hamburg after coasting past Jose Hernandez-Fernandez.

Bedene won 6-1 6-2 against his opponent from the Dominican Republic, who was a 'lucky loser' coming into the tournament.

The Brit broke Hernandez-Fernandez's serve twice in each set to seal a straightforward victory inside 69 minutes.

Bedene, the world No 46, will next play Russia's Karen Khachanov, who beat Germany's Rudolf Molleker 6-4 6-3 in the first round.
