Grigor Dimitrov is determined to retain his ATP Aegon Championships title at Queen's Club as he looks to gain some momentum on grass ahead of Wimbledon.
Dimitrov earned his first grass court title at the tournament in west London after beating Feliciano Lopez in last year's final.
The 24-year-old, who is currently ranked 11th in the world, was a Wimbledon semi-finalist last year after a successful campaign on the surface.
Dimitrov is now aiming to land his first title of the season and fourth of his career following a disappointing opening six months although he feels he is peaking physically.
"Everytime I come out here, it's a special feeling," Dimitrov told Sky Sports News HQ. "For me to come here as a defending champion means a lot more to me, but let's not get carried away.
"I'm trying to stay really good and composed, so I think I need a really tough and clean start to continue a good run out here.
"Physically it's been a good year for me so far so I cannot really complain about it and I'm really looking forward to stepping on the court."
Early exit
Dimitrov suffered a straight first-round exit at the hands of young American Jack Sock at the French Open and so decided to travel to London early to prepare for his campaign on grass.
"I had a pretty early loss in Paris so I rested for a few days and I was thinking what else can I do so I just figured just go to London and play on grass and next thing you know I just came to London and I've been here for quite a few days.
"I stepped on the grass and that was something I really needed. It was something new to experience, some kind of a new task, and that was a really good shift up for me and ever since then I've been feeling a lot better."
