Marcos Baghdatis upsets Bernard Tomic in Stockholm

Marcos Baghdatis surprised fourth seed Bernard Tomic to reach the quarter-finals of the Stockholm Open on Wednesday.

Cypriot Baghdatis, the 2009 winner, triumphed 7-6 (9-7) 6-3 against the Australian to progress to a meeting with Luxembourg's Gilles Muller.

Eighth seed Muller also eliminated Australian opposition, defeating John Millman 7-5 6-3 in 76 minutes.

American seventh seed Jack Sock also reached the competition's quarter-finals, with victory over Spain's Fernando Verdasco.

Sock, who hopes to win his second career ATP World Tour title, served 10 aces en route to a 7-6 (7-5) 6-7 (5-7) 6-4 win.
