The Philippine Mavericks won a second consecutive match on home soil with a 25-21 win against the Japan Warriors in the International Premier Tennis League.

Serena Williams, the 21-time Grand Slam winner and the Mavericks' star player, won two legs in the singles and mixed doubles on Monday in Manila.

After the Mavericks' Mark Philippoussis and the Warriors' Philipp Kohlschreiber earned a win apiece, Williams took centre stage for the hosts.

She teamed with Milos Raonic to beat Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Mirjana Lucic-Baroni 6-4 before easing past Lucic-Baroni 6-3 in the singles.

Serena Williams demonstrated great reflexes and superb play at the net to win this point in the International Premier Tennis League.

The Indian Aces also earned a victory in Manila after a comfortable 30-18 result against the UAE Royals.

The Aces won all five legs against their outmatched opponents with Rafael Nadal putting the finishing touches on the match.
