The International Premier Tennis League arrived in New Delhi on Thursday with Rafael Nadal the most famous face in action.

Nadal won both his matches for reigning champions the Indian Aces who ran out 30-12 winners over the Philippine Mavericks.

The 14-time Grand Slam champion beat Edouard Roger-Vasselin and Treat Huey of the Philippine Mavericks in the men's doubles alongside Rohan Bopara, before beating Frenchman Roger-Vasselin in the men's singles.

Though the Spaniard's efforts were little needed with the Aces dominating the three earlier fixtures. Bopara, alongside Sania Miirza, thrilled their home crowd with a win in the mixed doubles, before Agnieszka Radwanska and Fabrice Santoro both beat their singles opponents 6-1.

It was a bad day for the Mavericks, who had won four of their five previous matches, as they were downed by the table-topping Aces.

The first match of the day saw the UAE Royals facing off against the Japan Warriors, with the Warriors getting their first win 24-21.
