Novak Djokovic is on course for his fifth Miami Open title in six years after seeing off Tomas Berdych 6-3 6-3 in the quarter-finals.

Despite receiving treatment on his back in the fifth game of the second set, the world No 1 was still able to win the contest in just over 100 minutes.

Taking control early, Djokovic broke early in both sets and fought off several break points throughout the match to complete his 23rd win over Berdych, and 10th in a row.

The victory was the Serbian's 26th of the year, with his only loss coming against Feliciano Lopez when he pulled out due to an eye injury.

Another defeat never looked on the cards against Berdych though as Djokovic made only eight unforced errors to secure his semi-final place.

"This was overall, from the first to the last point, the best match I've played of the tournament,'' said Djokovic. "It comes at the right stage of the event.''

Djokovic will face David Goffin in the last four, after the Belgian beat Gilles Simon in three sets, 3-6 6-2 6-1.
