Rafa Nadal made swift progress to the quarter-finals of the Barcelona Open thanks to a 6-2 6-2 win over Albert Montanes.
The Spanish top seed extended his winning run on clay this year as he sealed a ruthless third-round victory over Montanes in just an hour and five minutes.
Nadal has shown signs of a return to form on his favourite surface and will be seeking out more silverware following last week's title triumph at the Monte Carlo Masters, which included a semi-final win over Andy Murray.
He made short work of fellow Spaniard Montanes, collecting five of a possible seven break points, and also fired 24 winners past his 104th-ranked opponent.
Nadal will next face 12th seed Fabio Fognini of Italy who defeated Serbia's Viktor Troicki, the eighth seed, 6-3 6-2.
Elsewhere, defending champion Kei Nishikori beat Jeremy Chardy 6-3 7-5.
