David Goffin makes winning start at the Barcelona Open

Fourth seed David Goffin came from behind to make a winning start at the Barcelona Open with victory over Spanish wildcard Marcel Granollers.

The world No 10 from Belgium lost the first set and was then taken to a tie-break in the second before hitting back to win the second-round contest 4-6 7-6 (7-2) 6-2 in two hours and 23 minutes.

On an otherwise successful day for the Spaniards, eighth seed Roberto Bautista Agut and 12th seed Feliciano Lopez reached the third round with victories over Ivo Karlovic and Dusan Lajovic respectively.

Another home player, Roberto Carballes Baena, beat Andreas Haider-Maurer 6-2 6-4 in a first-round match to set up a clash with top seed and holder Rafael Nadal.

Qualifier Martin Klizan of Slovakia saw off Argentina's Federico Delbonis 6-3 6-7 6-4 to book a date with Novak Djokovic.

Seventh seed Jan-Lennard Struff made progress at the Gazprom Hungarian Open in Budapest, beating qualifier Jurgen Zopp 2-6 6-4 7-5 in the first round.

Eighth seed Andreas Seppi beat fellow Italian Thomas Fabbiano 4-6 7-5 6-3.
