Top-seed Marin Cilic reached his second successive Queen's Club final after edging out entertaining Australian Nick Kyrgios.

Croatian Cilic, who was beaten by Feliciano Lopez in the 2017 showpiece, came through a tight contest between the two biggest servers in the game, 7-6 (7-3) 7-6 (7-4).

"It's so special to play here. I've played great tennis throughout this week and have another shot at the title," Cilic said.

"Nick is serving so good so it was tough to get any break points. I was maybe a bit more lucky in those situations and composed.

"I'll be ready for the final, I'm definitely going to give my best for a trophy."

There was little surprise when the opening set went to a tie-break as Cilic has not been broken in the tournament, while Kyrgios had sent down 82 aces before this match.

But a couple of crucial forehand errors from the Australian in the tie-break allowed Cilic to take control of the match.

Kyrgios fought off some early break points in the second set, but after that it was total domination from both players on the serve.

In the end, a crucial double fault from the Australian allowed Cilic to take control of the breaker and last year's Wimbledon finalist went on to win the match.

"I've played some good tennis and I've played some tough opponents. I played a lot of three-setters and a lot of tennis. That's a positive. My body feels pretty good," said Kyrgios, who also reached the semi-finals in Stuttgart last week.

"It's been a pretty successful couple of weeks, obviously given I was out [injured] for two-and-a-half months before that."
