Germany will host 2014 Davis Cup runners-up France in the first round of next year's World Group in fortress Frankfurt.

The World Group first round clash will take place from March 6-8 on the hardcourt of the Fraport Arena where the hosts demolished Spain 4-1 last season.

Victory over Spain last February was the highlight of their run to the quarter-finals where they contrived to throw away a 2-0 advantage to lose 3-2 to France in Nancy.

Le Bleu went on to beat the Czech Republic 4-1 before losing the final on home soil in Lille to Roger Federer's Switzerland.

"Even if it will be difficult, obviously we want our revenge. In Nancy, we nearly pulled off an upset," said Germany captain Carsten Arriens.

Germany have won the Davis Cup three times - 1988, 1989 and 1993 while France are joint-third on the all-time list of champions, winning the title nine times, although their last victory came back in 2001.
