Total prize money on the ATP Tour is set to increase next year, exceeding $100m for the first time in the history of the sport.
This figure is set to reach $135 million by 2018 as the ATP looks to reaps the benefits of the huge global appeal the sport continues to enjoy.
The biggest increase will be top-tier Masters 1000 category, with tournament’s prize funds increasing by 11 per cent.
The ATP will add a further three per cent to that figure, meaning a 14 per cent annual increase in the category over the next four years.
Prize money for the 250 category events will increase by an average of 3.5 per cent during the same period.
"The increases at ATP events are a testament to the sustained success of men's professional tennis, as well as demonstrating the ATP's confidence in the strength of its product and projected growth in future years," an ATP statement read.
