Swiss second seed Timea Bacsinszky and Flavia Pennetta, the third seed from Italy, both saw their hopes ended.
Bacsinszky suffered a 6-3 3-6 7-5 quarter-final loss to Slovakian seventh seed Anna Karolina Schmiedlova, while Pennetta went down 6-2 5-7 7-5 to Hungary's Timea Babos.
Schmiedlova will face fourth seed Elina Svitolina in the last four after the Ukrainian beat Italian Karin Knapp 6-0 3-6 6-3.
France's Kristina Mladenovic booked a meeting with Babos after she beat Spain's Lara Arruabarrena 6-4 6-1.
