Father-to-be Andy Murray feels "very lucky" after it was confirmed his wife Kim is pregnant.
The news broke last week via the two-time Grand Slam winner's agent, although limited details have been provided.
Murray reiterated his wish for privacy when speaking ahead of the Montreal Masters, but admitted his joy.
"I'm more concerned about the baby being healthy," he said.
"We're both extremely happy and feel very lucky. It's very exciting news, but it's also private news.
"There's stuff we want to keep close to our friends and family and I hope that everybody can respect that."
Murray has been given a first-round bye at the Montreal Masters as he prepares for the US Open. The British No 1 was knocked out of the Washington Open early last week by unseeded Russian Teymuraz Gabashvili.
"I feel okay, it always takes a bit of time getting used to the hard courts," Murray added. "Not so much with the tennis, but it's a tough surface on the body after coming from clay and grass which are a little bit more forgiving."
You can watch Andy Murray's build-up to the US Open live on Sky Sports this summer, starting with the Montreal Masters from Monday August 10.
