Top seed David Ferrer begins his bid for a fifth ATP title of the year in the first round of the Erste Bank Open, live on Sky Sports.

The Spaniard faces a dangerous opening clash against compatriot Albert Ramos-Vinolas, who produced a career-best victory over Roger Federer in last week's Shanghai Masters.

Ramos-Vinolas completed an impressive three-set triumph over the Swiss star, but has suffered defeat in all four of his previous matches with his world No 8 opponent in Vienna.

Reigning champion Roger Federer suffered a shock second-round defeat to Albert Ramos-Vinolas at the Shanghai Rolex Masters.

Ferrer, who was beaten by the absent Andy Murray in last year's final, will be hoping to add to the trophies he has already collected in Doha, Rio de Janeiro, Acapulco and Kuala Lumpur.

Gael Monfils, the enigmatic Frenchman, will make his return from injury when he faces Brazilian Thomaz Bellucci.
