Two of the game’s all-time greats are in action on Sky Sports on Sunday as Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal return to the court at Indian Wells.

Every shot and every serve from the star duo will be live on Sky Sports 3 HD from 6pm as the two multi-time Grand Slam champions aim to avoid shocks against less heralded opposition and steer themselves into the third round.

Federer, a four-time winner of the Californian event, arrives for another crack at the title having won the Dubai Open earlier this month and competed in an exhibition match in New York's Madison Square Garden against Grigor Dimitrov just this week.

The Swiss master will find himself up against Argentina’s Diego Schwartzman, the world No 63, as he begins his bid to go a step further than last year’s runner-up finish to Novak Djokovic.

Nadal will also touch down in the desert and finds Igor Sijsling of the Netherlands blocking his route into the third round of the ATP event.

Roger Federer hopes to go one step further at Indian Wells this year

The mercurial Spaniard has praised Indian Wells owner Larry Ellison this week for turning the American tournament into the ‘fifth Grand Slam’ and can now show his appreciation by beginning his onslaught of the prize after a 2014 interrupted by injury.

Three Indian Wells title to date for Nadal, plus Federer’s success on the desert terrain, means Sky Sports viewers will be treated on Sunday evening as two of the sport's top stars compete on a court they thrive on.
