Australian Open 2016: Jamie Murray to face Jonathan Marray in doubles

Jamie Murray will come up against fellow Brit Jonathan Marray following the draw for the first round of the Australian Open men's doubles.

Murray's new partnership with Bruno Soares got off to a flying start when the pair lifted the doubles title at the Apia International Sydney at the weekend.

The 29-year-old Scot teamed up with 33-year-old Brazilian Soares after ending his successful association with John Peers last year.

Murray and Soares, seeded seventh in Melbourne, now head into the first Grand Slam of the year in confident mood where Marray and Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi from Pakistan await.

Fellow Briton Dominic Inglot and his partner Robert Lindstedt take on Sergey Betov and Teymuraz Gabashvili, while the Dutch-Romanian combo and top seeds Jean-Julien Rojer and Horia Tecau face Martin Klizana and Sergiy Stakhovsky.

Lleyton Hewitt, making his last appearance before hanging up his racquet, teams up with fellow Aussie Sam Groth against the Serb pair of Dusan Lajovic and Viktor Troicki.

Third seeds Bob and Mike Bryan go in search of a 17th Grand Slam title when they open up against Chris Guccione and Andre Sa.

In the women's draw, British pair Heather Watson and Johanna Konta have been drawn against 16th seeds Gabriela Dabrowski from Canada and Poland's Alicja Rosolska.
