David Nalbandian captured his eighth ATP Tour event but his first on home soil when beating fellow Argentine Jose Acasuso in the Buenos Aires Open. The world number 11 dropped his serve twice in the opening set but battled back to claim the title 3-6 7-6 6-4 in two hours and 43 minutes. "I don't know why I have never won a tournament in Argentina but I am more than happy," said the top seed. "It was a difficult match, just as you would expect." Unseeded Acasuso had his chances and led 3-1 in the second set tiebreak before Nalbandian stepped up the pressure. "It's difficult to play a friend," he added. "We have known each other for many years. Today we were adversaries but soon we will be teammates in the Davis Cup."
