Men to move to Eastbourne from 2009

This year's Nottingham Open will be the last in a major shake-up to the pre-Wimbledon tennis calendar. After failing to attract big names to the ATP event, the Lawn Tennis Association have made the decision to axe the East Midlands tournament from 2009. From that point the men will join the established women's event in Eastbourne as they warm up for the grass season. Greg Rusedski won the Nottingham event in 1997 and 2003 while Jamie Murray claimed last year's doubles title with Eric Butorac as Croatia's Ivo Karlovic secured the singles title. This year's event takes place from June 16-22 and LTA chief executive Roger Draper will reveal further details of the changes later on Wednesday.
