"I just played terribly," British number one admits

Anne Keothavong's attempts to reach a first WTA final were ended in Memphis when Caroline Wozniacki dominated the British number one to win their semi-final 6-1 6-0. The 25-year-old Londoner, ranked 52nd in the world, had no answer as the Danish teenager claimed victory in less than an hour. Keothavong was taking part in the third WTA Tour semi-final of her career, and second this year, but has still never reached a final. She was attempting to become the first Briton to win a WTA title since Sara Gomer in 1988. Jo Durie is the last player from Great Britain to reach a WTA final, doing so in 1990. "Obviously, I'm very disappointed," Keothavong said. "I just played terribly. It was the worst I'd played all week. When you get to a semi-final, that's not how you want to play. "It was just one of those days where nothing was working. But, you have good days and bad days - today was definitely a very bad day." World number 12 and top seed Wozniacki will now face second seed Victoria Azarenka in the final. The Belarussian came through her semi-final with a 6-4 3-6 7-6 (7/1) victory over Germany's Sabine Lisicki.
