World No.3 to miss Shanghai Masters

Andy Murray has pulled out of the Shanghai Masters 1000 after failing to recover from injury. The world No.3 is still struggling with a problem in his left wrist, having aggravated the injury playing for Great Britain in their Davis Cup defeat to Poland in September. Murray has already been forced to sit out the Japan Open in Tokyo, with the Scottish ace now not expected to play again until November 2nd at the Valencia Open. A statement on his official website read: "Due to medical advice Andy will not be travelling to China. "He has decided to give his wrist extra time to recover and is likely to return for the Valencia Open."
