Spain to return to Olympic Stadium to face Argentina

Spain have chosen Seville's Olympic Stadium to host December's Davis Cup final. The Spanish will entertain Argentina on clay under a temporary roof at the venue, which previously staged the final in 2004. On that occasion 27,200 fans a day were able to pack in to watch events unfold, the largest-ever crowd to attend an officially sanctioned tennis match The stadium, which formed part of Seville's unsuccessful bids to stage the 2004 and 2008 Olympics, has a running track around it and one corner of that was used to seat spectators. Temporary stands were erected to enclose the court. Spain beat the USA on that occasion with a young Rafael Nadal in their team. Fitness permitting, Nadal will spearhead the hosts' victory bid on December 2-4. It is not yet known how many fans will be able to watch this year's final with the venue's capacity yet to be announced.
