Uruguayan qualifier Pablo Cuevas continued his superb form by upsetting top-seeded Fabio Fognini 6-3 6-4 to reach the final of Croatia Open in Umag on Sunday.
The 60th-ranked player reached his second consecutive ATP final after winning the title in Bastad, Sweden, two weeks ago.
Cuevas, 28, broke Fognini early to race out to a 3-0 lead and capture the first set.
He quickly broke again to start the second set, but Fognini reeled off four straight games to make it 4-2. However, Cuevas responded by winning the last four games to seal victory.
He will face defending champion Tommy Robredo in the final after he defeated third-seeded Marin Cilic of Croatia 7-6 (10-8), 6-3.
Robredo, saved seven set points in the first set two while down 3-5 and five more in the tie-breaker. He took control of the match after converting his third set point at 11-10.
The Spaniard then broke early in the second set to build a 3-0 lead and held on for the victory.
"The first set which saw a big fight was decisive," said Robredo. "After I've won it, Cilic had neither the force nor concentration for a better game in the second set."
Robredo is seeking his 13th career title and first since winning Umag a year ago.
The last player to defend his title here was Spaniard Carlos Moya, who won three consecutive titles from 2001-03.
Torrential rain on Saturday caused both last-four clashes to be postponed until Sunday. The final will be played on Sunday evening after the players have rested.
