Guillermo Garcia-Lopez beats Jiri Vesely in Bucharest final

Guillermo Garcia-Lopez of Spain

Guillermo Garcia-Lopez claimed the BRD Nastase Tiriac Trophy in Bucharest after beating Jiri Vesely in the final.

A 7-6 (7-5) 7-6 (13-11) victory makes Garcia-Lopez the first Spaniard to win at this ATP World Tour 250-level tournament since Albert Montanes in 2009.

He allowed a 3-0 first-set lead to slip as Vesely forced a tie-break, but Garcia-Lopez refound his form to come out on top.

They traded breaks in the second set and after Vesely wasted two set points, Garcia-Lopez sealed the deal with his sixth attempt at match point.
