Kevin Owens suffered defeat during Smackdown’s main-event tag-team match following interference by an irate Sami Zayn.

Owens hurled Zayn through a table on Monday Night Raw to prevent his fellow Canadian competing in that evening's Fatal Four-Way No1 contender's match for the WWE World Heavyweight Title.

Zayn got his revenge on the blue brand, though, distracting Owens and allowing AJ Styles - the winner of Monday's Fatal-Four Way encounter - to seal victory for himself and Cesaro over The Prizefighter and Chris Jericho.

Styles savoured his success having been told earlier in the night by WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns that he would never beat him, while Owens took out his frustrations on Zayn post-match by thundering his countryman into the steel steps.

The Vaudevillians, meanwhile, were triumphant on their Smackdown bow, with the former NXT Tag Team Champions overcoming The Lucha Dragons, while Apollo Crews backed up his win over Tyler Breeze on Raw with a comprehensive win over Curtis Axel.

Breeze fared no better than Monday night as he lost to Dean Ambrose, plus Natalya submitted Summer Rae with a Sharpshooter as Women's Champion Charlotte watched on from the announce desk.

Finally, Zack Ryder's hopes of regaining the Intercontinental Championship from The Miz were dashed when The Awesome One's wife, Maryse, caused a distraction and Ryder was clocked by a Skull Crushing Finale.
