WWE: Curt Hawkins to return on Smackdown brand

Former WWE Tag Team Champion Curt Hawkins is on his way back to WWE, the company announced on Smackdown.

Former WWE Tag Team Champion Curt Hawkins is returning to the company on the Smackdown brand.

Hawkins - who debuted on WWE's ECW brand in 2007 - won tag-team gold with Zack Ryder at the 2008 Great American Bash, the duo beating champions John Morrison and The Miz as well as Jesse and Festus and Finlay and Hornswoggle in a Fatal Four-Way.

Hawkins and Ryder - who also spent time in Edge's La Familia stable - would hold the titles for 63 days before losing them to The Colons, Carlito and Primo on an edition of WWE Smackdown.

Hawkins and Ryder then separated, with the former going on to feature in tag teams with Vance Archer and Tyler Reks and compete in NXT before he was released in June 2014.
