Jack Gallagher head-butted Neville from the ring as tensions flared ahead of the English stars' Cruiserweight Championship clash at WWE Fastlane.
Manchester-born Gallagher, who will challenge Newcastle native Neville for his belt in Milwaukee on March 5, attacked the self-proclaimed King of the Cruiserweights on 205 Live after the champion had beaten TJ Perkins.
The suited-and-booted Gallagher sent Neville fleeing after a brief brawl, before posing with the purple Cruiserweight strap he will look to win for the first time next month, live on Sky Sports Box Office.
Neville had just defeated former Cruiserweight Champion Perkins with his double armbar submission having wowed earlier in the bout by countering Perkins' cross armbreaker into a powerbomb.
Rich Swann, the man Neville beat to win the Cruiserweight Title at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view in January, picked up a win over Scotland's Noam Dar in his return to action following a foot injury.
Swann - who dedicated his match to Dar's love interest, Alicia Fox - pinned his opponent after connecting with a Phoenix Splash.
Plus, Gran Metalik - who finished runner-up to Perkins in last year's Cruiserweight Classic - enjoyed a memorable 205 Live debut, downing Drew Gulak with a Metalik Driver.
